Our evolving logo... The SMPTE logo started out much simpler: Just the initials 'SMPE' on a strip of film surrounded by a sprocket reel. This was appropriate for an organization that was started to standardize film gauges. When TV came under the mantle, the CRT was added as well as the 'T' to the name. Now our logo has changed completely with the multicolored iris and the old logos now just a historical curiousity... |
